Hi! My name is Ainsley Simmons, and I am currently teaching Physical Education here at New Vistas. I graduated from Randolph College in May of 2024 with a B.A. in Environmental Studies. Currently, I am working on my master’s degree at the University of Lynchburg in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. After graduating from Randolph, I worked as an instructional assistant at Central Academy Middle School and coached their middle school softball team, where I saw my love for kids continue to grow. I realized that I had a passion for helping kids process emotions, grow confidence, as well as prepare them with social skills to be able to take on the world.

This is my first year as a PE teacher, and I am excited to help foster a love for exercise and educate them on the importance of staying active while also having fun. I believe each kid is unique and everyone deserves the opportunity to experience movement in a way that fits their unique needs. Physical education is more than just exercise, it helps build confidence, teamwork skills, independence, and healthy habits. My goal is to adapt to activities, so all students can feel included.
