I am delighted to be sharing my passion for art here at New Vistas School! I picked up a paintbrush five years ago and have since taken painting workshops as far flung as France and Ireland and as close to home as the Academy Center of the Arts. I consider myself an art student, as well as an art teacher, which results in constant learning and creating. My work has been shown at the Lynchburg Art Club, the Academy Center of the Arts, and in private home shows.

I hold a B.A. in Communications and English from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College and an M.A.T. in Elementary Education from Virginia Commonwealth University. I am currently working on an M.Ed. in Reading Instruction through Mary Baldwin University. I spent 8 years in the public school system and 10 years at James River Day School. My classroom experience in both public and private settings puts me in a unique position to recognize the exceptional program at New Vistas School. It is a truly special place that meets the needs of each student.

Besides art, I love to be with my family, walk my dogs, play the piano, and perform in community theater.
