Hello, my name is Cynthia Via. I am the upper school math teacher and this is my second-year teaching at New Vistas. This year I am teaching Algebra 1, Algebra 1 Part 2, Geometry, Social Emotional Learning, and Gardening. My hobbies include gardening, reading, and volunteering.

I have lived in Lynchburg for 23 years. Previously, I lived in Madison Heights and attended Amherst County Schools. After graduating from Amherst County High, I attended Central Virginia Community College. Two years later I graduated from CVCC with an Associates in Arts and Sciences Degree. I then transferred to Old Dominion University where I worked on my Bachelor’s degree in Human Services Counseling with a minor in Special Education. When I was nearing completion of this degree I transferred to Liberty University and completed my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. A few years later I completed my Master of Arts in Elementary Education and my Education Specialist Degree in Special Education through Liberty University.

I look forward to a great year at New Vistas!
